Kim's Story
Living in Blacksburg, VA with my husband Skip Garner , four or five dogs, three horses and the random fox that shows up every fall!
I have been working as an applied anthropologist for about 20 years, and recently finished my graduate work in anthropology with a focus on medical commerce.
I worked at ad agencies for the greater part of my career until 2008 when I started my first company, CEO - HelioText (text mining for 3 letter federal agencies, primarily NIH). I'm currently a
co-founder of 2 start-ups: Majorizer.com (site for college bound HS students) and Genomeon, a bioinfomatics company...Expand for more
focused on DNA microsatellite based predictive screening for cancer and neural disease.
For fun, I like to drink wine and run (in that order, preferably), I'm starting a documentary project, capturing people's stories about pets and how they have affected their owners' heath and lives which has been really fun, grueling, and heartbreaking all at the same time.
